Lahore Canal – World’s Largest Natural Swimming Pool

So this is probably the largest natural swimming pool in the world, eh? I know this doesn’t look very clean but hey, its absolutely FREE for everyone so who cares. Scenes like these are common in Lahore during extreme heat of summer combined with load-shedding. Canal becomes a place of festivity for Lahori men, women and children in such harsh weather conditions.

I can’t think of any swimming facilities for 99% population of Lahore where families can actually go enjoy swimming except for the one in the photographs above. Surely, people in these photographs cannot afford Model Town or DHA swimming pools. We hope city government pay attention to lack of swimming facilities for 99% population of Lahore and take necessary steps.
